What Is a Lab-Grown Diamond?

Lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled environment and have the same essential chemical, crystal, and optical properties as mined diamonds. Like mined diamonds, they are evaluated for characteristics such as carat weight, cut, color, and clarity.

IGI Certification

Every LAMOR&CO center diamond is independently graded and certified by IGI. The IGI grading report records identifying and quality information such as shape, measurements, carat weight, color, clarity, and other characteristics of the center diamond. Accent, halo, side, and pavé diamonds are not represented as having individual IGI grading reports unless specifically stated on the product page. Understanding the 4Cs

• Carat: the weight of the diamond. Center-stone weights vary by LAMOR&CO design, so review each product page for the exact carat weight.
• Cut and shape: shape describes the diamond outline, while cut quality and facet arrangement influence how the diamond handles light. Our collection includes designs featuring Round, Oval, Pear, Emerald Cut, Marquise, and other shapes.
• Color: describes the degree to which a diamond appears colorless. The exact color grade is listed on each applicable product page.
• Clarity: evaluates internal and external characteristics visible under magnification. The exact clarity grade is listed on each applicable product page.
