A Beautiful Ring. But Is That the Whole Price?
Published October 16, 2026

The ring catches your eye. So does the price. Then you choose the center diamond—and discover the number that attracted you was only the setting.
The photograph showed a complete ring. The price did not.
A low starting price gets your attention. Choosing the diamond, metal, and details keeps you involved. By the time you see the complete cost, you may already be attached to the ring. That is the commercial power of a starting-price strategy.
Selling the setting and diamond separately is legitimate when clearly disclosed. But comparing that opening number with the price of a complete ring tells you very little.
Compare the whole ring
In the Rare Carat example pictured above, the setting is $1,370 and the selected 2.02 CT oval lab-grown diamond is $1,625. Combined: $2,995.
LAMOR&CO’s The Isabelle is $1,950 complete in 14K gold, including its 2.00 CT oval lab-grown center diamond, gold setting, and pavé diamonds.
Both centers are listed as E color, VVS2 clarity, with IGI reports. These are comparable specifications, not identical rings.
Clear pricing. Personal accountability.
At LAMOR&CO, the listed price covers the complete ring in your selected configuration. Optional upgrades are explained separately; when available, we can sometimes offer an upgrade at no additional cost.
Every piece passes through the owner’s hands. Mr. Mello, a diamond setter with 27 years of experience, personally inspects every piece, stone by stone, under a professional microscope.
